Additional / Extra-curricular Activities

The school offers various extra curricular activities and clubs e.g. the Urdd and sports activities.

These school-arranged activities are subject to the cooperation and support of parents. The school cannot accept responsibility for supervising children at the end of club/society sessions and parents and/or guardians are asked to ensure that they make arrangements to escort their children home.

Urdd

Urdd meetings are held on Monday evenings between 3:30pm and 4:30pm

After School Clubs

After school clubs are held, e.g. Football, Eco-School, Mathtastic, Sports. Parents will be informed about the clubs every term.

Breakfast Clubcartoon of Fruit

The school has established a Breakfast Club under the Assembly Government's conditions. This means that a free breakfastis available at the school between 8:25am and 8:50am. A pre-breakfast Care Club is available at the school between 8:05am and 8:25am for £1.00 per day. Payments must be received through the Council's Schoolcomms system. School doors are not opened before 8:05am and breakfast will not be available after 8:40am.

The breakfast will include cereal and milk, fruit or juice and a slice of toast. The Authority will not amend the school's transport contracts for the Breakfast Club. From time to time, due to early educational visits, it will not be possible to hold the Breakfast Club, however, sufficient prior notice will be given.

Y Felinheli Care Club

An after school care club is held between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Monday to Friday. The club is very popular. If you wish to register your child for the after school club, you are welcome to contact the school for more details.

We believe that taking children on educational visits give them valuable experiences, enriches their lives and prepares them to become mature citizens. Educational visits will be arranged as an introduction to a subject or to reinforce the learning in the classroom.

It can be:

i) A local walk around the village
ii) A one-day trip in a bus or
ii) A residential visit

We will send information about educational visits to parents and parents' permission is mandatory before the child is allowed to join the activity.

A fee will be charged for such activities in accordance with the Governors' Charging Policy and parents are asked to make voluntary contributions.
