The role of the School Council is to represent the children of the school in order to make Ysgol Y Felinheli a happy and safe place. The whole school has the opportunity each September to elect two representatives from each class from Y2 - Y6 to be on the Council. As members, pupils have the opportunity to express their views on the school's procedures and to comment on improvements. The School Council meets twice a term.
Over recent years, the Council has been busy creating new characters to support pupils with their learning; ensuring that there is a wide range of activities during break times; working closely with a local artist to create a mural across the corridor, and to improve the appearance of the Junior toilets. Also the School Council members have looked at improving the main entrance and holding activities such as a big picnic on the school field in the summer. In the future, they hope to conduct a survey to seek pupils' views on a wide range of health and wellbeing subjects.
